PHASE 2 OF CAMPAIGN IS HERE!!!!: SCREAM to the 4th POWER for CHEEKS!

In case you haven’t heard, the Scream movie trilogy is in the works to become a six part series. The original trilogy writer, Kevin Williamson, is currently writing the screen play for Scream 4. You may know that Kevin also wrote I Know What You Did Last Summer, the TV series Dawson’s Creek, and most recently The Vampire Diaries.

Now you may be wondering what this has to do with Cheeks. You may or may not know that Cheeks is a HUGE horror movie fan; especially of the original Scream Trilogy. He even does a spot on Neve Campbell impression (a tidbit I learned from my recent trip to La La Land)!

Kevin Williamson is also an openly gay screenwriter who has included gay and lesbian references in many of his projects. The Scream series has been an exception. I believe the revamping of this series needs to include a role for a gay character. Since I’m not a screen writer, I won’t pretend to suggest character development and story line. However, I do believe that Cheeks would add a young and fresh face to an aged movie series. The addition of a gay character would also offer the series a contemporary perspective and provide a new dynamic for story development.

We have all been present to bear witness to the ever growing and intensely motivated fan base that has formed around Cheeks; a fan base which often has catapulted him to levels most celebrities cannot attain with legions of followers. The various incarnations of the Tweeterwall contests provide a prime example. A lesson can be learned: Never underestimate the power of the Cheeks’ Peeps!

Phase 2: Send a Letter or Postcard to Kevin Williamson

Beginning immediately, we are asking all Cheeks supporters to send either one (1) letter or one (1) postcard to Kevin Williamson at the address listed above. A letter is strongly preferred due to the space limitations on that of a postcard.

The correspondence sent should be positive, respectful, and supportive of the upcoming Scream projects, Kevin Williamson’s work in general, and of Cheeks’ artistic abilities regarding acting.

The following is a guide containing important points you can utilize as part of your correspondence:

• The most important factor to remember in any correspondence to Kevin Williamson is that he is a WRITER; not a Casting Director. The goal is to express the need for a ROLE to be written into the upcoming Scream series for a gay character. We are expressing our sincere recommendation that he create this role and keep Cheeks in mind for the project.

• Any writer likes to have his work complemented. It is a good idea to express the feeling that you are glad to see Kevin is the writer returning to create upcoming installments of Scream. It is also important to note Kevin’s past accomplishments such as Dawson’s Creek and the new series The Vampire Diaries. Artists like to hear that there is excitement surrounding their work.

• Be sure to point out that Cheeks’ has been building a huge fan base that are all intent to see his transition into main stream acting. Express the idea that Kevin Williamson, by his own hand and recommendation, could be responsible for breaking a star.

• Cheeks has a special gift for capturing tone; assimilating thoughts and expressing them subversively in a tongue in cheek fashion.

• Kevin Williamson is a very talented and sought after writer. Express the idea that Cheeks perhaps may fit into other projects that Kevin may be involved.

You may also express the ideas used in Phase I of this campaign in a more detailed manner:

• Scream 4 needs a gay character to represent the community
• The series has always thrived on fresh and young talent, both of which Cheeks offers
• Cheeks is a HUGE horror fan and fan of the Scream Trilogy
• Cheeks is a HUGE fan of Kevin Williamson in general
• Cheeks is a funny and versatile character actor
• Cheeks has a HUGE following of his own as evidenced by Ultimate World Mr. Twitter finish in 4th place

I would like to encourage everyone to comment below when they have successfully sent off their letter/postcard so we can decide on future phases in the campaign to get Cheeks into mainstream roles. Also be sure to provide any feedback you may receive.
